01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Choose a cocktail named after a song and settle in to listen to Yuming. At Caramel Mama, choosing a drink is part of the musical experience. The cocktail list includes names such as “Hikōki Gumo”, “Destiny” and “No Side”. One visitor recalled hearing that “Hikōki Gumo” was vodka-based and quite strong; their friend chose “No Side”, while they went for “Destiny”. If a song title catches your eye, you can ask about the drink’s flavour and strength before deciding.
Some visitors have also enjoyed requesting songs and listening through the bar’s sound system. The song-inspired cocktails have been described as offering more than sweetness, with bitterness and acidity in the mix. It’s a place for an evening spent revisiting musical memories, or simply enjoying a drink at a bar.
Peanuts in the shell are set out on the table to accompany your drinks. Several visitors mention the bar’s custom of dropping the shells on the floor once they have finished—a different way to spend an evening than at a more conventional bar. For another light snack, 松前屋’s fried kelp has also been ordered by reviewers. One visitor wrote that they ordered two portions at 300 yen each and went back for more. Whitebait and lemon pizza also appears among the menu options, though it is worth checking whether it is currently available.
